Doc’s Interview: Greg Nobles of Morris Minor

Posted on 04 September 2009 by Valso

Doc talked briefly with Greg Nobles of Morris Minor before their show at Noell B’s tonight 8:30pm (19 S. Conception)

Doc: How did Morris Minor come together?
GN: I formed the band seven years ago when I moved back to Mobile from Birmingham. I needed an outlet for the songs I was writing at that point in my life…

Doc: Where did you get your name?

GN: Morris Minor is a British car from the 40s – 50s.

Doc: What is your most memorable experience playing in Mobile?
GN: There are many… but the one that sticks out is the show we did with Jim White at O’Rourke’s. David Byrne was there to see Jim and it was a mad house.

Doc:  If Coastal Alabamans could just listen to just 1 MM song, which should it be?
GN: Something Beautiful. It’s the most positive song we play and I’m tired of negativity…

Doc: Plans for the future?
GN: Playing shows and recording our new songs. Finding peace and harmony…

Doc: Any spiritual/philosphic advice for Coastal Alabamans?
GN: Be nice. And support your local artist and musicians, they need you!

Doc: Amen to that. Thank you. You can find Morris Minor songs and info at:
