The free Jimmy Buffett concert on the beach in Gulf Shores July 1 that your friend who wears sandals is really excited about has been canceled and moved to July 11.

Official word is that stage and weather conditions played a significant role in the concerts cancellation. Apparently the NWO has a hurricane scheduled for that day and Jimmy Buffett specifically has it in his rider that he won’t play in an oilstorm*.

Ticket holders will be able to use their already-issued tickets for the postponed event on July 11, 2010. Sources said no additional tickets will be issued to the public. They say if you have reservations in Gulf Shores, contact the hotel and reschedule for a later date.

Hotel owners say they don’t believe this cancellation will greatly affect their business.
