Mod Mobilian asked Student And Filmmaker Alliance organizer Renae Brewer for a rundown:
Two non profit organizations in Mobile, Alabama, Lifesouth Community Blood Centers and the recently established Student and Filmmaker Alliance (SAFA), team up with local filmmakers to create films in honor of the opening of the third movie in the Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
Filmmakers were asked to base their films on vampires or werewolves, include a LIFESouth prop in their production, and were given ten days to complete short, five minute films. The filmmakers who signed up for the project range from students to local business owners.
The films will premier Tuesday, June 29, from 8PM to 11 PM at Wynnsong Theater under a tent near the LIFESouth Blood Mobile. Viewers will get to vote on their favorite films.
Local filmmakers participating in the event include: Trey Lane, Colin O’Shea and Neverserio.us Films, Abby Long and Renae Brewer, Artie McGowan and Team Colony, Anthony West and Jolt Productions, and Andrew Preston and Tinashe Nyatanga of BRTL Films.
These films, in conjunction with Twilight and the hardworking staff and management at the Mobile Donor Center of LIFESouth, hope to raise awareness about the importance and need for giving blood, as well as attract interested donors to not only the Twilight Blood Drive, but to donating blood to a community in need.
Do this then go to the midnight showing of ‘Twilight:Eclipse’ at the Crescent Theater.
