Mod Mobilians get a 3-for-1 as we interview multi-talented Mobile singer Carey Dekle.
MM: Tell us about your background.
CD: I grew up around music and from childhood, my parents recognized I could sing, so it’s just always been something I’ve done. I started writing in high school (McGill-Toolen – ed.) but didn’t ever perform my originals until college when I started playing local shows.
MM: What are you doing now and what’s next?
CD: I play shows almost every weekend with Matt Arensberg (guitarist also formerly of Color the Coast – ed.) and it’s just very relaxing but fun accousic shows.
I’d love to have a full band again if I can find the right people to play with us. As for what’s next, once I have all my ducks in a row I’m going to lay down a few more tracks and let out another CD…this time full length. I have no end in sight
