Years ago, as a founder and board member of WHIL, I made a tour of other public radio stations. I spent a few days in Cambridge and was shocked at the blind arrogance directed towards me as a "Southerner". Now, mind you, my hair was kinkier and longer than Jimi Hendrix's, my attire and politics were vintage Fugs and Allen Ginsberg, my heritage Puerto Rican.
