From Haere Marue’s last show 12/27/2007 at Moonsoon’s – video by Fish Anderson:
From www.myspace.com/haeremarue:
Formed by Sam Shober and Kurt Wielkins in the early 1990’s as an acoustic duo playing frat gigs at the University of South Alabama. Haere Marue quickly gained popularity when we became a full 5 member band playing original music and obscure covers you forgot you loved. The band helped develop the downtown Dauphin Street music scene in Mobile, Alabama by being one of the 1st regular bands at Monsoon’s that regularly drew record breaking crowds and often gave the Fire Marshall a headache. We are partly responsible for the very late night starts for bands that play to this day. We never started a gig before midnight. (Note OLH)
The core of the band for the long haul has always been Kurt, John (Milham), Chris (Spies), and Dave (Smithweck). With many great guest musicians who have graced us w/ their talents on stage, there core always remained the 4 of us who gigged regularly as a 4 piece.
Haere Marue officially disbanded in 1999 and occasionally played a few reunion shows before playing their final show on 12/27/2007 at the now defunct Monsoons.
