2012 Mobile Bay Art & Music Awards
We were very surprised and encouraged that we received almost 1000 votes in the 2012 MODDY Awards – up significantly from previous years. We hope this is an indication that Mobile Bay residents are becoming more aware of local art.
The purpose of the MODDYs is to acknowledge local works of art. We hope readers found some pieces they missed last year – we know we did. Although we could have nominated many more – the main purpose is not competition but awareness. All area artists benefit when people care more about local art, music, film, and literature.
Winners will be acknowledged during the Arts Alive / SouthSounds weekend April 12-14.
