September 17 the Independent Music Collective will be kicking off the 2016-17 season with the Australian blues sensation C. W. Stinking. Doors at venue Satori Coffee House will open at 7:30 p.m. and the show will start at 8 p.m. As always, admission is free to University of South Alabama students with a suggested donation of $5 for all others.
Stoneking’s latest release “GON’ BOOGALOO,” is currently at 9 on the Billboard Blues Albums chart. IMC 37 is a fantastic way to see this rising artist in an intimate performance setting. The IMC is a campus organization that brings some of the best independent music talent to Mobile. In cooperation with the popular independent business Satori, the events are very well received and worth spending an evening to explore.
” [Stoneking’s] … the hottest – and most enigmatic – blues artist in Australia … ” The Village Voice states.
The performance will be popular among students and locals alike. Satori offers alcohol as well, so there will be plenty for guests to enjoy this evening. Stoneking was born in Katherine, located in the remote Northern Territory of Australia. Do not miss this limited opportunity to see a great musician from another continent.
“[Stoneking] will make you want to get up and dance,” NPR insists.
