The Hallers are a well known local band who can also count themselves among SouthSounds Festival alums. They  have performed at The Blind Mule Restaurant and Bar numerous times, and will be returning to The Attic stage on February 9, 2018 beginning at 9 p.m. The group will be joining acts Rock Eupora and South Carlen for a great night of music.

Mod Mobilian has spoken with The Hallers several times over the years about their experiences as a band  within the Mobile music scene. In honor of their upcoming performance, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Brendan Manceaux gave his impression of how Mobile’s music community has grown, as well as advice for fans who want to support their favorite local bands.

The Hallers Q&A

1) What is it like being a local band in Mobile?

“The Mobile music scene has grown so much for us in the past couple years. There’s constantly talented touring acts coming through, and the other local acts always put on a great show and are very supportive of each other. It’s constantly growing into something bigger and more involved,” Brendan Manceaux expresses.

2) How important are independent venues such as Blind Mule to support that growth?

“We probably would have never played to anyone if wasn’t for places like Blind Mule. We played our first few shows there. You cannot develop as an artist or band without the independent venues that are willing to give a shot to smaller and local acts,” Brendan shares.

3) What are some ways for fans to support their favorite bands downtown?

“Go to shows, buy a t-shirt or an album, share a link, and tell all your friends. Do whatever you can to get other people interested in getting involved with their local music scene,” Brendan advises.
