Q: What is this about?
A: The Mod Mobilian is dedicated to promoting Mobile Bay Culture – its art, literature, music, film, food, people, businesses, and outdoors – and defending against cultural homogenization. It gives attention to the productive and creative efforts little mentioned in other media.
Q: Does it just cover Mobile?
A: No, it covers Mobile and Baldwin counties, Alabama, and the Central Gulf Coast. But ‘The Mod Mobile Bay Area Resident’ didn’t sound right.
Q: Who runs The Mod Mobilian?
A: Well-known (relatively) local artists, musicians, filmmakers and writers under our editor, Mailer Daemon.
Q: Who is Doc?
A: Doc is the pseudonym for Dr. Cornelius Atticus Theodore (C.A.T.) Valso, PhD (Behavioral Finance). Maybe. He was born in Argentina, grew up in New Orleans and Lower Alabama before living and training in London, New York, and Seattle, among others. Doc famously heavily shorted the equity and commodity markets in 2008-2009.

A: To support our artist-contributors, and beyond that local arts organizations.

Q: Is Mod Mobilian for everybody? Will you publish diatribes about Tim Tebow crying, Tiger Woods jokes, or videos of mentally-ill people running naked around Dauphin Street presented as entertainment?
A: No.
