On Saturday, April 30, from noon to 2:00 p.m., Scott O. Brown will sign copies of his new graphic novel “They Do Not Die” at Bienville Books, 109 Dauphin Street. Written by Brown and illustrated by Horacio Lalia, the paperback graphic novel is the story of a teenage girl who struggles to save herself and her little sister when she discovers that when anyone in her small hometown turns eighteen, their souls are bartered for immortality.
This lurid B-movie horror is accompanied by “Whale Song,” a short story also by Brown and Lalia about Captain Percival Smith and his close-encounter with a were-whale, as well as numerous behind-the-scenes extras. Copies of “They Do Not Die” will be available at $9.99 for the 96-page black-and-white graphic novel. The author has timed this signing to coincide with Walpurgis Night, a traditional spring festival popular in northern Europe which is held on April 30.
